The only PRO the Blackmagic app has over this (for my use case) is LOG recording without the large file size of pro res.

Honestly people should RTFM, there's speciations in there that could save you time with white balance, for instance this light is recommended to be 5750k for natural light, so yeah in camera I was using the daylight preset for wb (5200k) SURPRISE peoples skin tones was off, SO I THE MANUAL I read the recomemded spec and voila 5750K ON LIGHT AND I CAMERA... skin tones was spot on. Thing is RTFM

Blackmagic has added support for Live Sync with DaVinci resolve today. Is this a little like Final Cut Camera thingy? Technical terms lol

I loved the BlackMagic app a lot, but it offers me nothing over the Final Cut Camera app. After messing about with it today, I reckon I'll be switching. Keeps things nice and simple, my phone camera is only ever used as a 3rd angle but it's nice to have those manual controls.

SO at 1:18 - 1:20 when you say, "We're gonna plug in this via this", what is that big tangle of wires and which ports on the Sony ZV-1F and laptop is it connecting? - ZV-1F USB-C out to laptop USB-C in or - ZV-1F HDMI mini out to laptop HDMI in? Does the ZV-1F work differently from the ZV-1 you are using? Is there an Elgato Camera Hub somewhere in the mix? Does this work differently in Mac and Windows -- like there is some security or privacy setting that has to be adjusted on the Mac? Is there some networking setting on the ZV-1F that has to be made? Or a streaming setting?

I'm considering a Ulanzi tripod. However, the number of well produced extremely favorable videos by reviewers who got a free tripod raises a lot of suspicion. Seems like and shrewd a probably effective marketing scheme by Ulanzi. It is nice that most reviewers say up front that they got a free tripod from Ulanzi but then the idea that the review remains unbiased is a bit weak. Such reviews would be more credible if 1) They weren't all identically enthusiastic and 2) If the reviewers had to send the tripod back or bought it with their own money. In regard to this particular tripod it is simply a no go for photographers who have invested in Arca-Swiss plates and L-brackets, which are the de facto mounting system for most serious and not-so-serious photographers.......the Peak Design plates notwithstanding. The problem with the Peak Design and similar plates is there isn't much to keep heavier gear from twisting on the plate and they don't allow for the easy convenience of L-brackets for vertical shooting. And sadly the F38 QD mount does not accept conventional AS plates. Yes, you can mount a different head but then you've bought another and likely heavier head which obviates the price and the weight of this tripod. I'm looking at the similar Zero Y tripod by Ulanzi. It does accept standard AS style plates and brackets. But I have to say I'm put off by what appear to be a rash of hyped reviews from reviewers who have been gifted a free tripod.

The other flaw with these cages is that they leave the phone unprotected. By the time you're done filming, the phone will be scratched up.

Great informative video! I have a gimbal for my ZV1 which is gathering dust as I’ve almost given up on using the ZV1 for cinematic video as outdoors shooting in 4K I can’t see the image on screen because of the ‘screen dimming’ that nobody seems to mention. In bright light I cannot use it.. I know the ZV1 is a few years old now but I shelled out good money for something that is virtually useless shooting 4K in bright conditions. I have thought about a monitor but can’t see a review which may solve this issue. Maybe a challenge for someone to find a solution?… keep up the great work

Gimbals are amazing. After years of searching for a camera with perfect IBIS for smooth handheld shots, and falling short I bought a gimbal. When I finally got it balance and got the footage home, I was thrilled. It beat Dynamic steady shot in every way.

Great video. Love this. The problem I always struggle with is the weight! I have the DJI RSC2 plus my camera. And sometimes, depending on the shoot, I have to use my Atomos monitor. My arms get pretty tired. I can't imagine using all that with a tripod as well, though your shots are awesome for it. Do you just get used to it, or is there a secret way to make it easier?
